The Denim Report
Have you heard the nonsense?? Skinny jeans and side parts are out says Gen Z! Don’t worry, we’re safe. The skinny jeans we rocked 10 years ago with the scrunched ankle are a no but a slim cut that hits at the ankle is still in.
Yes the 90’s are still making a strong appearance. Mom jeans, distressed and baggy are all in. Just because something is in doesn’t mean it’s flattering. Lucky for you I was happy to do some fashion research aka SHOPPING! I found some cute styles that work at all ages.
I was also lucky enough to get some strong opinions from my fashion assistant, my 6 year old Ella. I have to admit, I did agree with most of her opinions.
I tried on A LOT of jeans!!! Here are some of my top picks
This pair from Pistola is reasonably price and just the right amount of relaxeD
This pair from Frame was a favorite! I loved the hem and they were so soft
Levis are back in a big way!
I was so impressed with the classic 501 and they’re under a $100!
I love the distress look of these ones. This is the wedgie Jean from Levis. This cut is very narrow through the hips and thigh. If you have a booty like me size up!
Some tips if you’re going to buy Levis. There isn’t any stretch to them. Definitely wash on cold and hang dry so they don’t shrink. They should relax as you wear them in. If you want them more relaxed from the start, size up. I did on the wedgie and they were still a little snug.
Rag & Bone make 2 pairs I love!
They are a straight leg and more fitted. It’s a nice transition from a skinny jeaN.
This pair is the same style in a lower rise. They actually make the Dre in low medium and high rise. I loved the light color for spring
The “Mother” of denim
I can not tell you how many of you said Mother denim was your favorite. They are so soft and comfortable. I have to be honest. I think they are cut for a narrow build. I sized up and this style was my favorite. I have hips and a butt so jeans can be challenging. Definitely give these a shot though because literally every time I compliment someone on their jeans lately they are wearing Mother. I’m sharing the ones I tried on and a few other styles I loved!
