Bringing Home the Puppy

The time has come!!!

The kids have been begging and I had been doing the research and reaching out to breeders for months.

Some of you might know that we had a little bulldog before. She happened to have been born on our 1 year wedding anniversary so the name Uno it was. She was a sweet little girl who stood by me through 2 tough pregnancies and would bark at the toilet when I had morning sickness.

Sadly Uno passed away at only 4 years old and at the time Hudson and Ella were 1 and 3. Not exactly the best time for me to run out and get another dog.

Fast forward to about a year ago and the “can we get another bulldog?” started. They both had their hearts set on a bulldog. We always knew if we got another one it would be a she and we would call her Dos. The Hunt for Dos began.

When I found her my husband and I knew we wanted to surprise the kids. I hid everything in the garage and timed it all up while they were at school

Here is everything I bought to get ready for her

Their reaction couldn’t have been sweeter. There was a lot of talk leading up to the dog about responsibility and picking up our rooms so she doesn’t eat anything. Listen for Hudson saying “I’m going to clean my room” ha ha.

Day 1 with Dos was filled with excitement and a lot of snuggles. She is so mild mannered and sweet.

Now for nighttime….. OH MY!!! I was up every 2 hours. Lots of yelping and barking but that was to be expected. Of course I immediately started googling solutions for crate training at night and this was truly a life saver

Make sure to get the replacement heat packs because one only lasts 24 hours

This helped tremendously!!! Sounds crazy I know

It has been a busy week and we are adjusting to our new family member but I am so glad we made it happen!!
