Clean eating through the Holidays - Week 1

Ok I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out!

Every year is the same thing. It starts with Halloween candy, then we have Thanksgiving and all the holiday events leading up to Christmas. Baking cookies, gingerbread houses, wine, parties (well who knows this year) wine, did I mention wine??

You get the point. Then you throw 2020 in the mix and I’m sure we’ve all been off the wagon for awhile. I think we can all agree the holidays are a terrible time for a full blown Whole 30 but we can definitely clean it up during the week.

Last weekend we decided to keep it clean during the week. I planned out my recipes for the week and was on it! I found some great new ones to add to my repertoire.

Sunday

Paleo Mississippi Pot Roast

I have mentioned @maryswholelife before. I follow her on Instagram and she has some amazing and most importantly EASY recipes! This pot roast was off the hook. My husband already requested it for this Sunday. The pepperoncinis make the dinner. The flavor is delicious and we had leftovers for lunch

Monday

Whole 30 Tuscan Shrimp

I found this one on my Pinterest. This is so creamy and yummy I felt like I was cheating. I put this on top of spaghetti squash and dinner was served.

The roast heated up perfectly for lunch the next day at the salon.

Tuesday

Whole 30 chicken fajitas

This one was so flavorful and so easy I will definitely be keeping these ingredients on hand to throw together. I used the siete grain free tortillas and topped with fresh lettuce and avocado. The leftovers were perfect on top of a salad for lunch the next day.

If you’re on Pinterest check out my whole 30 and paleo board. I save so many great finds on there.

Wednesday

On Wednesday I went with one of my go to recipes the kids love. I absolutely love The Defined Dish cookbook

I cook out of it at least once a week. It’s also a great gift.

I made her grain free chicken nuggets. Whole 30 approved and paleo. My kids devour them. I roasted sweet potatoes and broccoli for our sides and dipped in my favorite habanero ranch from Tessemaes  (linked on my amazon under whole 30)

Thursday

Don’t laugh! My husband made the chicken fajitas recipe again. I told you it was easy ha ha

Thursday is my late night so he’s on his own which usually means tacos or grilling

Friday

Mary’s whole life for the win again! I love her sheet pan meals. Easy prep and clean up.

The flavor of her marinade is delicious and it reheats amazing for lunch the next day. This is a weekly recipe for me. I like to use the Pederson farm’s kielbasa
