Clean eating through the Holidays - Week 3
All right guys!!!! Week 3! I
Have you tried any of the recipes I’ve shared? On Sunday I have been planning out my meals and my grocery list and I swear this makes me stay on it. I also plan around my work schedule. I know what days are realistic for me to try something new and make something fun and I know the days I need a slow cooker or sheet pan meal.
Sunday
Chicken Tikka Masala
On Sundays I love easy. I like to be able to do whatever we want as a family and I don’t have to worry about dinner. I decided to try The Defined Dish’s slow cooker chicken tikka masala
The chicken shawarma I made last week was a huge hit so I knew this would be too

Monday
Crab Cake
This Monday I worked while the kids were in school. Ella had a playdate and Hudson had basketball so I knew I would be able to try something new. I have been eyeing the crab cake recipe from The Defined Dish. I swear I’m not paid to promote her ha. Her cookbook is just yummy, clean and easy.
Honest Report…
These weren’t exactly easy. The flavor was amazing and the crab cakes were delicious but I couldn’t get it to stick together. I still inhaled them and even my daughter asked for seconds.
I roasted fingerling potatoes and some asparagus with a little lemon zest as a side. We had leftovers for breakfast potatoes and lunch!! Win win!
Tuesday
Now is a good time to talk about healthy to go options. Let’s be honest, working mom or stay at home mom we all get burnt out on cooking.
Tuesday I ordered True Food’s to go. They have great family meal options. I love their Kale Caesar and their chopped salad with grilled chicken. My kids are big fans of the pizza
Here are some other local spots I like to order from when I’m in a pinch or not in the mood to cook
Vibe is bomb! It’s clean, soy free vegan food. You can order their veggie burgers made in house frozen in packs of 8 for a quick and easy meal.
I love their fiesta bowl. The jackfruit carnitas are so spicy and delicious. If you want a healthy treat that tastes too good to be true try their chunky monkey smoothie.
Oooooooo don’t get me started on Jan’s! It is my absolute favorite for a salad. My favorite is their classic salad with chicken and avocado. If you are a tuna fan, I love theirs. It’s made really simple with not a lot of Mayo and no onions.
Jan’s is also great for catering. I use them a lot for my kids parties or a moms luncheon at my house. The sandwich trays and salads are delicious and they package it all so nicely you don’t need to replate.
Wednesday
Pasta and Meat Sauce
Hump day!!! On Wednesday I juggle hosting a small dance class in my garage for Ella and her friends and Hudson has a piano lesson on zoom.
Yes I’m home making dinner but I’m home bouncing back and forth Sinai need easy.
This Wednesday I did one of my go to easy concoctions
The Meat Sauce
I quickly sauté garlic and onion then brown the meat. I add a sugar free marinara and olives (my kids love olives)
My favorite gluten free pasta is jovial. I add some frozen peas the last minute of boiling. Boom! Greens ha ha
Layer together and a family friendly quick dinner!
Thursday & Friday
These recipes are on repeat. We always do a taco night in our house because it’s so easy.
We made the tacos from last week’s post. They’re easy and a hit with the kids.
Friday I made the chicken shawarma again from The Defined Dish cookbook. I used cauliflower this time. The flavor of the chicken is delicious. I skipped the cayenne on half the chicken because it was a little much for the kids!
