Hair Care for Blondes

Purple Shampoo

All blondes hear they need it but did you know you can over use it?

Purple shampoo has purple toner in the shampoo. Purple cancels out yellow in the color world, also known as gold. It’s great to use as maintenance in between appointments but NOT daily. When asking your stylist how often you should use it, tell them how often you shampoo. Over using it can cause your blonde to look gray or the build up could actually cause it to look even more brassy. It’s a great product when used correctly,  just communicate with your stylist. This is my go to purple shampoo I recommend by Unite

Sulfate-free shampoo & Conditioner

Did you know sulfates are a harsh detergent in shampoos to make it suds up? They strip out your glaze and are rough on your hair.

Coloring your hair is a luxury and an investment. Quality products are how you take care of that investment at home. Your blonde locks want moisture. Want a tip for fine hair? Make sure to keep the conditioner off of your roots. This will keep your hair from going flat. I keep these shampoos on rotation in my shower

Heat protectant & UV protectant

Colored hair, virgin hair, any age! I recommend Unite 7 seconds to EVERY client! It’s an amazing detangler that doesn’t weigh down the hair and protects the hair from heat and UV rays. I keep one in my bathroom, my daughter’s bathroom and our pool bag

Conditioning treatment

I would aim to deep condition twice a month. When I do it, I shower at night, shampoo then comb the masque through my ends and throw it in a bun. I actually sleep in it. If you’re afraid of greasy roots, put your hair in a ponytail and just do the ends and wrap in a bun. During the summer I actually hang by the pool or go to the beach like this! Your ends will love you!
