Yosemite in 48 Hours with the Kids

One of our most magical spots is Yosemite. It never gets old and the view everywhere you look is breathtaking.

We swooped on a cancellation and could only get 2 nights. Sometimes 48 hours is all you can get because work and school calls. If time is of the essence then location is key! You need to be in the valley to get the most out of your time.

There are three main spots to stay in Yosemite Valley.

Curry Village

Yosemite Valley Lodge

My Favorite the Ahwahnee

All of these spots are great and a walk, bike or short drive away from beautiful hikes.

We stayed at the Ahwahnee. If you do not stay here you must stop by for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea.

The Great Lounge is stunning and a drink on the lawn is a must while the kids play.

All of these lodging options have bike rentals which is a must. It’s a great way to explore the valley with kids.

The hikes are advanced and breathtaking. These are two options I have done with kids

The Merced River

The perfect downtime in Yosemite with kids is the river. Bring a raft, lounge chair and beach towel and just hang out on the river. My kids explored for hours so pack lunch and drinks

Yosemite has the most breathtaking meadows.

After dinner we would walk around the meadows and look for deer.

Seeing Half Dome at sunset is one of the most beautiful sights. In Yosemite you can go all in, attacking strenuous hikes, rock climbing and mountain biking. Or you can just be and soak up nature. However you decide to do it, I highly recommend the journey.
