How to get a straight blowout with Volume

You can see at the start of this tutorial how curly my hair is. I have a very strong wave. This is one of the reasons I’m always posting about dry shampoo and how to get your blowouts to last. Smoothing out my hair is a bit of a challenge and time consuming

I washed my hair with R+Co television shampoo.

Now for what products I used before so styled. Something to consider… volumizing products go on the roots. They typically have alcohol or ingredients that absorb oil to achieve volume so they can dry out your ends.

Moisturizing products and oils should be applied midshaft through ends. These products can weigh down the roots and make them seem greasy. These tips should also extend the life of your blow dry.

I am using Unite boosta on my roots, 7 seconds detangler and u-oil on my ends. The 7 seconds and u-oil also have a heat protectant in it. Not only are these products great for moisture but they’re protecting your hair at the same time.

Now for the styling. I’m using my Ibiza GL7 paddle brush to flatwrap and smooth my hair. Flatwrapping is a great technique that helps smooth out cowlicks and curly hair.

Once my hair is about 75-80% dry that’s when I go in with the round brush. I am using my boar bristle Ibiza round brush in size 4 & 5. 5 is the biggest size.

Once my hair is completely blow dried I use my flat iron to tap stubborn curls at my hairline and finish my ends. Notice how I am taking vertical sections along the top and pulling the hair up and out. This helps me keep the volume at the root.

I finish my hair with R+Co badlands dry shampoo paste. This product is magic and I use this in a lot of my tutorials. It adds amazing texture to the roots. Finally I finish with outer space hairspray to mold and hold the shape of my style

Happy Styling
