Summer Blowout Tips

Now I’m going to break this down by category. Fine/thin hair, thick and coarse/curly are all very different. I personally have thick, frizzy and strong waves. The products I want to use to blow it out smoothly are different from when I want to wear it curly.

You will notice one common denominator in all, I absolutely love Unite 7 seconds as a leave-in and heat protectant for all hair types. Another favorite for all hair types is a boar bristle brush. Metal brushes can get too hot and fry your ends. The boar bristles aren't only gentler but add shine.

If you have fine or thin hair you are more than likely trying to get volume at the roots and wanting your style to hold. You also want moisture though to protect your ends especially if you’re swimming or spending time at the beach.

A shampoo/conditioner I love for moisture that will not weigh down your hair is R+Co gemstone. It leaves the hair soft but not flat.

Like I mentioned above, 7 seconds is your best friend. It has a heat protect and even better for summer a uv protectant. Always use it before you blow dry your hair. Keep volumizing products at the roots. These can dry out your ends. I love Unite boosta for volume. I spritz this on my roots in big sections throughout. Need to take it one step further for hold? Add in Unite elevate mousse. I love this stuff and use it a lot in the salon.

Now for finishing products. R+Co makes this dry shampoo paste I love and swear by. It’s great for texture and lift at the root. For hairspray I like Unite max control and R+Co outer space. They are both great options.

For hair that loses curl easier try a 1 inch iron vs a 1.25. The tight curl will last longer for you

Now for hair more similar to mine.

My goal for my hair is tame the frizz and smooth out the waves. My hair needs moisture for lots of reasons. It’s color treated and I use heat everyday.

My texture is fine but I have a lot of hair so if I go overboard with creams and oils it can weigh down my hair. If your texture is more coarse you definitely want to use both.

I am loving R+Co Television shampoo and conditioner. It’s also safe for keratin treatments and Brazilian Blowouts.

After I wash I spray all over with 7 seconds detangler before brushing. I also recommend the same volumizing products as above. I love boosta for my roots. Volume isn’t a problem for me so I would only add in the mousse for a night out.

Where the routine differs is the moisturizing products. I have 3 products I love. Depending on hair type will decide how I cocktail them.

I use R+Co moisture cream or the u-oil. If my ends are feeling extra dry or my keratin treatment is completely gone I cocktail both together.

For curly hair that can be tough to blowout I add in lazer straight. It packs a punch for blowing out tough, curly hair.

If you want to rock your natural curls remember curls love moisture. I would use the moisture cream and u-oil but add in Boing Curl Cream.

For finishing products I love the hair sprays I listed above. You could also try a texturing spray. That’s my go to especially when I curl my hair

These are my 2 favorite irons for curling

I use the 1.25 inch size in the majority of my tutorials and for everyday.
